Junior Achievement

For more than a century, Junior Achievement (JA) has equipped young people with the skills to build their economic futures. In 2026, JA of Northern Nevada (JANN) is accelerating this impact by delivering high‑quality, experiential financial literacy and income‑generation programs that help students break cycles of limited opportunity and build long‑term stability.

JANN reaches students across a wide range of communities, many of whom face barriers to financial education and exposure to career pathways. Through volunteer‑led, hands‑on lessons in grades K–12, students learn how to earn and manage income, budget, and save, understand credit, and explore entrepreneurial pathways. These experiences directly increase financial capability, strengthen confidence in future career choices, and improve students’ ability to make informed, responsible financial decisions.

As we kick off our 70th anniversary locally, we reflect on those across our community who have helped us to have an influence. We are proud to include The Nell J. Redfield Foundation as a part of our 70-year legacy, which positively helped thousands of disadvantaged youths become empowered to succeed in life. And we look forward to continuing this partnership for the next 70 years – and beyond – helping us in scaling our programs that measurably improve financial understanding and expand access to tools that promote upward mobility. Together, we can equip more young people to navigate financial challenges, build assets, and pursue meaningful economic opportunities – strengthening Nevada’s workforce and communities for generations to come.
