August Partner of the Month

The Holland Project is an all-ages arts and music initiative by young people, for young people, in the Truckee Meadows. Holland Project’s aim is four-pronged: 1.) art access; 2.) music access; 3.) diverse workshop & skill-building opportunities; and 4.) community engagement & collaboration. Holland is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization that focuses on executing live music events, curating gallery exhibits, hosting unique and affordable workshops, organizing youth camps and after-school offerings, and presenting special events and city-wide collaborations, overall producing more than 300 all-ages events and programs annually. Governed by its members, volunteer boards, and committees, Holland seeks to propel Reno’s all-ages movement and wholeheartedly support and champion opportunities for young people, artists, and our community. 

Modeled after successful projects nationwide, including Holland’s sister organization, The Vera Project in Seattle, Holland was started by a group of dedicated teens, musicians, artists, teachers, activists, business owners, and community leaders in 2006. With immense community support, Holland officially opened its doors in the spring of 2007 and has since put on thousands of events. In 2015, through Holland’s Grounded For Life campaign, our community helped us purchase our building at 140 Vesta Street, ensuring all-ages art and culture have a permanent place in our community, no matter what. Now looking forward to 2027, Holland Project will celebrate two decades of all-ages arts, music, and culture in Reno. 

The Holland Project treasures our longstanding partnership and collaboration with the Nell J. Redfield Foundation. With Redfield’s mentorship and support, we have reached incredible milestones within our organization, including securing our campus for future generations and celebrating nearly two decades of service. We’re so honored to be part of a network that encourages collaboration and community, and has enabled us to achieve our mission and grow our work in big, meaningful ways. We’re exceedingly grateful for the guidance and look forward to serving thousands of Nevada youth for many years to come.
