PARTNER OF THE MONTH
The Nevada Museum of Art is the only accredited art museum in the state and serves over 120,000 visitors annually. Founded in 1931, the Museum’s vision is to advance cultural dialogue through exhibitions, collections, publications, and programs that connect people with creative ideas. In 2025, the Museum celebrated the completion of its new 50,000 square-foot Charles and Stacie Mathewson Education + Research Center, an expansion that significantly deepened the Museum’s capacity to serve students, educators, families, and lifelong learners. With a longstanding commitment to educational access, community impact, and teaching and learning, the Museum is an essential resource for Northern Nevada and beyond.
Education is at the heart of the Nevada Museum of Art’s mission, and the Museum provides high-quality, standards-based learning experiences to tens of thousands of students and educators each year. Through school tours, hands-on Art Lab workshops, teacher professional development programs, college-level engagement opportunities, and public programs, the Museum fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving across all grade levels.
The Museum’s education programs provide meaningful, inclusive, and transformative learning experiences that enrich our entire community. Our partnership with the Nell J. Redfield Foundation has enabled the Museum to expand critical K–12 and educator programs, remove cost barriers for at-risk students, and ensure that arts learning remains accessible for all. This generous support also strengthens the Museum’s capacity to serve students, educators, and families by providing essential program and operational funding, including sustaining the Nell J. Redfield School Services Manager and Jeane Jones Education and Public Programs Manager positions. We are deeply grateful to the Nell J. Redfield Foundation for their long-standing commitment and partnership, which continues to make these impactful programs possible.
