PARTNER OF THE MONTH
STEP2 is a Reno-based nonprofit treatment program for women struggling with substance use disorder. This year, STEP2 proudly celebrates 40 years of walking alongside women and their families—providing a safe, supportive space and a comprehensive treatment program to help women in the Northern Nevada community get and stay clean and sober.
STEP2’s stated mission is to break the cycle of addiction and violence in families—by empowering women to build and maintain a clean and sober life. By focusing specifically on women, mothers, and expectant mothers, STEP2 believes that when a woman is substance-free, safe, and independent, a family is changed for generations.
STEP2 is honored to partner with the Redfield Foundation, whose generosity continues to shape what recovery looks like for women. The Redfield Residential Treatment Facility, named in recognition of the Nell J. Redfield Foundation, offers more than a place to begin–it provides stability, dignity, and hope at a pivotal moment as a woman starts on her path to recovery. The facility stands as a lasting reminder of our shared commitment to empowering women and supporting the healing that takes place when a woman chooses recovery for herself and her family.
More About STEP2
STEP2 offers a proven, holistic approach to recovery—addressing trauma, domestic violence education, employment readiness, housing, and childcare assistance. This comprehensive-care model provides women with the tools needed to inspire meaningful and lasting growth that saves lives and restores families.
STEP2’s program is broken into three levels of service…
RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM at the Redfield Residential Facility (2 months)
The first—and biggest—step.
When a woman first joins STEP2, she’ll live at our Redfield Residential Facility, with constant access to the support of trained professionals and tools she needs:
TRANSITIONAL HOUSING at the Lighthouse Campus (9 months)
A bridge to a brighter future.
After a woman completes the residential program, she may opt to move into STEP2’s transitional housing, where she will be reunited with her children and continue to receive support and therapy that prepare her for reentry into the greater community:
CONTINUED OUTPATIENT SERVICES
Ongoing support for lasting change.
For women who have phased out of residential and transitional housing, and for those who do not live on campus, STEP2’s optional Outpatient Program (OP) offers ongoing therapy and support as she transitions back into the community.
